O.K., it's a five way tie (whoever heard of such a thing) :), since I didn't have time to do a tie breaker I just picked the one I felt most prepared for at the moment.
So what did I choose?...Insects!
Perhaps I should change the shutter speed...or use a larger aperture...zzZZT! Pesky Flies!!!...can't get a decent picture for all the bugs...
Pesky flies, I do believe you mean your next subject!
In photographing the world around us let us not forget the "underworld"!
There are so many opportunities for photographing insects around us, they are literally swarming around your camera. Take the time to "stop and observe the insects" and you will be rewarded with willing subjects! The ones that land on you are particularly good because you are in close proximity and combined with macro setting you can take some stupendously detailed insect shots.
Next time you step into an ant pile instead of getting angry at yourself for disturbing yet another ant pile, grab your camera (and maybe some vinegar) and snap away.
Try and look at the good side of every situation and you might be well rewarded-photographically speaking.
And another thing, don't be afraid to get down on your hands and knees and get dirty. Contrary to popular belief dirt does not kill you nor is it unladylike. There is a way that one can get down into the dirt and rise up with perfect dignity.
When you get down on your hands and knees a whole 'nother world is opened up to you. It's almost like stepping into a wardrobe and finding yourself in Narnia.
Don't be afraid to explore, it can be quite an adventure!!!
So please join me, as I explore the insects of the underworld this week.
