Good eat'n means good pictures

Food, the substance of which all creation lives on. Before you dismiss food as simply something that we have to eat in order to live consider the beauty of food...uh, excuse me?

The beauty of food.

Food was created by God right along with trees, sky, and water. Let us not shove food off as not worthy of our attention. There is something intrinsically beautiful about a dish of fresh picked blueberries, a tender juicy thanksgiving turkey fresh out of the oven, a hand-picked peach on the counter, or even a hamburger cooking on the grill. -You just have to keep an eye out for those moments when food is particularly photogenic. -And no, I 'm not trying to be funny. :)

As for Approach and Recommendations:

  • Macro is recommended. You can view my posts on macro for helpful tips. (Please see Sidebar, Labels, Macro)
  • Experiment with different angles, and perspectives. Close-ups tend to be the most flattering but try stepping back a bit for a different look.
  • Fresh fruit always is attractive, especially textured fruit because it gives depth to your pictures.
  • Desserts also serve as flattering subjects; cheesecakes, cakes, & cookies, are all excellent, especially if they are fresh baked!
  • With Thanksgiving coming up in a few months there will be ample opportunity to capture many varieties of food on film. So have your camera ready!
  • An added bonus to photographing food is that if you do, stock photography food pictures are largely in demand.
Hope this was helpful
